Edwards (EST) Quickstart

ProtoConvert can supply and support gateways that can have an Edwards Quickstart client interface.
When a gateway is configured as an Edwards Quickstart Client it would keep reading data from the field devices using Edwards Quickstart protocol. It will also be possible to program the gateway to relay commands to the field devices (if protocol implementation supports, please check datasheet for details). Hence when used as an Edwards Quickstart Client the gateway reads data from Edwards Quickstart Servers and makes the data available on a variety of other protocols like Modbus, BACnet, SNMP, LonWorks and many others.
When a gateway is configured as an Edwards Quickstart Server it can be connected to an Edwards Quickstart Client and be a source of data. It would respond to the polls from the Edwards Quickstart Client and publish the data as per the internal configuration. Hence by using the gateway as an Edwards Quickstart Server it is possible to publish data from other protocol networks on the Edwards Quickstart network.
AOSmith AINP
The AO Smith AINP (Advanced Internal Network Proprietary Communication Protocol) driver allows the transfer of data to and from devices over RS-485. The Advanced Internal Network Proprietary Communications Protocol.doc document forms the basis of the AINP driver. It is possible to bridge other building automation protocol networks with AO Smith AINP network using a FieldServer running the AO Smith AINP protocol driver.
The FieldServer can be configured as a Server only on the AO Smith AINP network interface. It is possible to transfer parameters and commands to/from AO Smith Client Controllers to other networks (like Modbus, BACnet, SNMP etc) via the FieldServer. Each remote device (e.g. AO Smith Client Controller) can have 30 parameter blocks; each with 255 (16bit integer) parameters which can be stored and updated by the Driver. Each Client device can have a command block of up to 255 commands. The Driver can be configured to execute any of these commands at the Server. The Server can be configured with a combined total of 255 of its own parameters and commands which can be read/written or executed by the Client Device.
