The EZ Gateway M-Bus to Modbus and BACnet allows integrators to connect M-Bus products to Modbus and BACnet management systems in commercial buildings, campuses, and industrial facilities using Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet MS/TP, or BACnet/IP protocols. It is a simple-to-use, high-performance building, and industrial automation protocol gateway. Products for M-Bus are used in many different industries, including energy, gas, heating, water, VFD drives, and PLCs. Translations between the M-BUS and BACnet, and Modbus protocols include:

  • M-Bus to Modbus
  • M-Bus to Modbus TCP/IP
  • M-Bus to BACnet/IP
  • M-Bus to BACnet MS/TP

The integrator or contractor can cut down on configuration and commissioning time and continuing operating and maintenance costs by using the EZ Gateway M-Bus to Modbus & BACnet. It also eliminates the need for protocol expertise.

Field-hardened M-Bus, Modbus, and BACnet protocol drivers are combined with an intuitive configuration interface in the EZ Gateway M-Bus to Modbus & BACnet. Once configured, this interface enables M-Bus devices to be presented as virtual BACnet devices, which facilitates commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting. The user-friendly web-based interface allows setups to be created in the office or out in the field. To streamline the commissioning and integration process for repetitive applications, the configuration profiles can be downloaded and transferred to additional FieldServer M-Bus apps.

1. M-BUS INTEROPERABILITY

  • M-Bus Explorer finds every M-Bus device in the network, displays information about the manufacturer and available points, and creates a one-click profile.
  • Utilizing Profile Loader, you may quickly modify, export, and import profiles.
  • 64 maximum slave devices (max device count based on model)
  • Multiple devices communicating simultaneously at various baud rates
  • Virtual nodes on the BACnet network enable every M-Bus device connected to a single EZ Gateway to be regarded as a different device.

2. BACNET COV

  • Utilize the Change of Value (CoV) setting to limit the amount of BACnet data overhead and congested network traffic by only sending data when an M-Bus device status change is detected.

3. REMOTE ACCESS AND SUPPORT

  • Remote Access is supported by all FieldServer gateways. To monitor, manage, and troubleshoot installed equipment, sign up for the MSA Grid and then use the Remote Access functionality to connect to the FieldServer gateway.

4. BACNET BBMD SERVER SUPPORT

  • To establish connections with distant BACnet networks.

5. REMOTE DIAGNOSTICS

  • Through a web interface, you may diagnose the network-connected devices.

6. MSA GRID SUPPORT

  • To access local apps, configure settings, and control devices remotely, register your EZ Gateway with the MSA Grid interface.
